This topic of using praise to categorize fast songs and worship as slow songs in church are not appropriate were discussed among us.
It really kept me thinking for a while. I wouldn't say who's right and who's wrong because I believe that by the little knowledge that I know I don't have the right to call it who's right or who's wrong. So this post is just the end thought of the topic.
As far as I know, bible didn't mention about praise as fast songs and worship as slow songs. I'm not the history about the church worship department how they come about using it to categorize praise as fast songs and worship as slow songs, but 1 thing I'm sure, as long we know that we are give the Lord our praises and our worship I believe God wouldn't mind whether we sing fast songs or praise songs.
The phrase " Heart of Worship" just shoot into my mind.
It's doesn't matter whether it's a fast song or a worship songs, as long we acknowledge that all these songs we are singing is to God and sing it with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. God hears it.
John 4:23-24
23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."
Mark 12:30-31
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'
Question. Will it stumble other people if it's categorized as so?
Once again. I don't know what's right and what's wrong.
Let's just say, people who know that we are sing praise and worship songs are usually believers. When the heart is all that matters, stumbling or not really the real issue because we are already believers of Christ.
I was kinda bothered when I see people rising issues between christians in facebook for the past few weeks. I nothing much I can say about it.
If anyone of you is reading this. Remember.
Heb 10:23-25
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
P/S: A post not to stir up argument, just a short note to remind myself. =)
Cheers,
Yuan
